Trapping project leads to major kakī release in Mackenzie Basin – Mathew Littlewood, Timaru Herald

On Thursday 45 kakī were released at Mt Gerald Station, in the Godley and Cass river systems.

One-hundred-and-thirty of the world’s smallest and rarest wading bird are being released into the Mackenzie Basin this week, off the back of a major trapping programme.
